24 hours of madness, 23 kilos of Boris Bike, 22 seconds to spare.

Kudos to Rob Holden and his mates for pulling off this crazy 24 hour cycling challenge:- Rent 23 kilos of Boris Bike, drive over to the base of Mont Ventoux, ride the sled / bike up the fearsome beast of Provence and return back to London all within 24 hours to dock the bike in sufficient time to avoid the £150 non-return fine.

I still have nightmares about the time that I rode up the Ventoux myself; the first section affectionately named the ‘forest of doom’ holds particularly fearsome memories. Riding a Boris Bike up there and then driving all the way back to London within the given timescale is just plain crazy!

Rob and his mates successfully completed the challenge and raised over 10 grand for Macmillan Cancer Support. Well done lads, you’re an inspiration.
